El boxeador mexicano Julio César Chávez Jr. habría sido tratado recientemente en un hospital psiquiátrico luego de que su esposa Frida alertara a la policía sobre el consumo de decenas de pastillas.
¿Qué le pasó a Julio César Chávez Jr.?
Según informó el medio TMZ Sports, el incidente ocurrió el pasado 24 de octubre cuando la Sra. Chávez llamó muy preocupada a las autoridades de Hollywood, California, al temer por la seguridad de su esposo tras ingerir gran cantidad de medicamentos potentes y peligrosos.
Cuando llegaron los paramédicos para atender al hijo de la leyenda Julio César Chávez, determinaron que debía ser internado en un centro psiquiátrico para recibir tratamiento, donde pudo permanecer hasta 72 horas.
La ley en Estados Unidos faculta a ciertas autoridades como policías o médicos a retener hasta por 72 horas a una persona si consideran que representa “un peligro para otros, para sí misma o tiene una grave discapacidad”. El objetivo es realizar una evaluación e intervención de crisis antes de que la situación escale.

Recientemente, Chávez padre había expresado su preocupación porque su hijo pudiera sufrir una sobredosis o accidente por su adicción a pastillas para bajar de peso que lo hacen alucinar y perder el control.
“Me da lástima, porque sus hijos están chiquitos y no los está disfrutando. Me duele que se vaya a quedar loco, que le vaya a pasar un accidente manejando a las 12-1 de la mañana a todo lo que da, que le vaya a dar un infarto de tantas pastillas que se mete“, señaló la Leyenda del boxeo en entrevista con el podcast Bromeando con los Rivera.
Este nuevo incidente enciende las alarmas sobre la frágil situación emocional y los posibles trastornos psiquiátricos que atraviesa Julio César Chávez Jr.
Se espera que Chávez Jr. pueda reponerse y retomar el rumbo de su vida personal y deportiva. Su salud debe ser la máxima prioridad antes de pensar en cualquier regreso al ring.
