Mauro Boselli, figura histórica del Club León, anunció que se retirará del futbol profesional al terminar la presente temporada con Estudiantes de la Plata.

El delantero argentino comunicó la noticia en un emotivo video en redes sociales. poniendo fin a su carrera tras 19 años como jugador. Actualmente milita en el equipo argentino, al que le restan pocos partidos.
““Hoy les quiero contar que, cuando termine la temporada, cerraré mi carrera como futbolista profesional”, publicó Boselli”, expresó el apodado “Matador”, quien brilló en México vistiendo la camiseta de la Fiera entre 2013 y 2018.

En León, Mauro Boselli se convirtió en el segundo máximo anotador histórico con 130 goles, solo detrás de Carlos “Dumbo” López con 136. Fue campeón de goleo en tres ocasiones y bicampeón del fútbol mexicano.

La historia fue maravillosa: un bicampeonato, ser campeón de goleo 3 veces y ser uno de los máximos goleadores de la historia de la institución. Ser Fiera, para mí, sin lugar a dudas fue, es y será un orgullo”. escribió sobre su exitoso paso por la Liga MX. También militó en Corinthians y Cerro Porteño.

A Estudiantes le quedan tres partidos pendientes en la temporada de Argentina, además de la Copa Argentina, donde se enfrentarán a Boca Juniors en las Semifinales. Dependiendo del resultado, podrían disputar un quinto partido antes de finalizar su participación.
