Brasil se une a lista de selecciones que perderán al menos un jugador para el Mundial de Qatar 2022. Se trata del centrocampista del Liverpool, Arthur Melo, quien se lesionó el pasado lunes durante un entrenamiento.

El jugador de 26 años anunció que no podrá asistir a la justa mundialista debido al tiempo que tardará en recuperarse.

“Lamentablemente, como saben, una lesión en mi muslo izquierdo me mantendrá fuera de acción por un tiempo”, escribió Melo en su cuenta en Instagram.

El jugador cedido por la Juve al Liverpool, con opción de compra de 37,5 millones de euros, asegura que durante este tiempo se apoyará en su familia y en los aficionados para volver más fuerte.

“Ahora es el momento de mantener la cabeza en alto y unir fuerzas con mi familia. Mientras tanto, seguiré apoyando a mis compañeros del Liverpool y a mi amada selección de Brasil”.

¿Cuántos partidos ha disputado Melo con Brasil?

Arthur Melo ha disputado 22 partidos con Brasil desde su debut en 2018. Llegó al Liverpool cedido por la Juventus de Italia.

El centrocampista estará entre tres y cuatro meses alejado de las canchas, por lo que no podrá disputar el Mundial.

Brasil debutará en Qatar 2022 frente a Serbia el 24 de noviembre a las 13:00 horas (tiempo del Centro de México. El segundo partido será contra Suiza, el cual se jugará el 28 de noviembre de 2022 a las 10:00 horas.

La escuadra sudamericana cerrará la fase de grupos el 2 de diciembre contra Camerún, a las 13:00 horas (tiempo del Centro de México).
